The longer version
A script that saves twenty minutes a day is more useful to me than being known as “the automation person.” The script doesn’t need defending in meetings.
I start with repetitive work I understand well and can undo if something goes wrong. Judgment calls stay with a person until there is a good reason to trust the system with them.
